Enter The AlloSphere

Enter The AlloSphere

And we're off!   I'm pleased to say that I have now started the album. The first track is sizing up to be a mofo of psychedelic proportions.  It's a co-lab with Nikki S, so what else would expect from the queen of psy!

There's a quite a bit more work to do on it yet, but the ideas are flowing along nicely. We've got into the arrangement side of things quickly too - which is always a good sign! I think this ones gonna be a monster!

Aside from that, one thing massive thing I've done recently is finally set up my monitor speakers correctly! I've been meaning to do so for ages.  God knows why I had been putting up with so much boom and wobble in the room. Settling for a sub standard sound from a set of speakers that should have sounded sound mint was just criminal. What a waste of a beautiful set of Mackies!

Anyways, as a wise man once said "the best thing a procrastinator can do is procrastinate about procrastinating" - so I've done just that! A quick 20 mins later and the studio is now sounding amazing. In case any of you reading this don't know... I'll share the wealth on how to set up a pair of monitors a little later this week. Probably one of the easiest ways to a better mix down!

In the meantime - what do you think about the working title of my album - "Enter the AlloSphere"?.  It's inspired by a research facility in California.  The AlloSphere is a 3 story metal sphere in an echo free chamber that's actually a large dynamically varying microscope.  It's connected to a super computer that allows artists, scientists, musicians and physicists do some pretty crazy stuff.

Imagine if you could stand inside of an atom and watch and hear electrons spin.  Imagine if the brain was a world which you could fly through and interact with. Well that's what the AlloSphere allows people to do. Pretty inspirational if you ask me! I absolutely love the fact that this concept has become a reality! This is creativity on a massive scale!

Below is a video from that explains a bit more about it and here is an article from the Santa Barbara Independent in 2008 that gives a good account of the journalist experiencing it for himself. Till next time, and remember to keep searching for that perfect groove!
